The Egyptian-British
Chamber of Commerce in London and the British Government Software
and Computer Services International Group in cooperation with
the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology
(MCIT) have organized a ministerial-led mission to the United
Kingdom during the period from Feb. 15 - 18, 2004. |
| The mission
was led by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Nazif, Minister of MCIT
( now Egypt's Prime Minister). Twenty eight IT Egyptian companies
have been chosen to accompany this mission aiming towards
fostering bilateral business relations, with provisional agenda
topics being IT and relevant technologies. Global Geobits

( USAID ) planned a networking trip to the United States of

2004 , a top notch delegation from STEWART INTERNATIONAL (www.stewart.com)
paid a visit to OSMAN GROUP.The objective of their visit was

Inaugural SIFE Egypt National
Competition

Dr.James Joy, the Commercial
Counselor of the Embassy of the United States of America in
Cairo, has invited Dr.Shawki Elghazali, the Managing Director
of Global Geobits to serve as a judge of the Inaugural Students
In Free Enterprise (SIFE) Egypt National Competition. |
Students from four Egyptian
Universities competed for the title of National Champion and the
honor of representing Egypt at the SIFE World Cup 2004 to be held
in Barcelona, Spain. The event was held on the 5th of July, 2004
at J.W.Marriott Hotel on Ring Road - Mirage City in Cairo. The
winner of this year was the American University in Cairo and was
named the National Champion of 2004.

During the activities of
the ITI 5th Arab Conference on Geographic Information Systems,
Global Geobits announced the production of
the first Egyptian GIS " Beta Version " software.
His Excellency Dr. Tarek Kamel, Minister of Communications and
Information Technology ( MCIT ), Dr. Raafat Radwan, Head of Information
and Decision Support Center of the Cabinet, and Dr. Mohamed Salem,
Director of the Information Technology Institute (ITI), together
with many egyptian, arab and foreign delegates visited our booth

Agricultural Cadastral system
Global Geobits Egypt , in a consortium with Globe
Telecom, SETC and Primasoft have won the public tender announced
by the Ministry of Communication & Information Technology
(MCIT), in cooperation with the Ministry of Water Resources and
Irrigation represented by the Egyptian Survey Authority and the
Ministry of Justice represented by the Real Estate Registration
Authority.The work already started in developing the Agricultural
Cadastral database for central region of Egypt, including Giza,
Bani Suef, El Menia and El Fayoum Governorates.GIS database development
at ESA started one month after mobilization, testing and evaluation.
The prototype village was completed by our staff and the first
Markaz in Bani Suef has started. Work includes scanning , mosaicing,
geo-referencing, data conversion, and GIS database development
of approximately 30 000 hard copy maps and more than 3,000,000
ownership records to be completed in 20 months starting Sept.
1st 2005.
